The Sports Training Field is a vast sports facility representing Okhotsk, located in a naturally rich area surrounded by forests and lakes near Lake Abashiri. The site covers an area of 39.37 hectares (approximately the size of 8.4 Tokyo Domes), and its greatest attraction is its high-quality natural turf. This natural turf field is renowned as the best in Japan, and teams from the J.League and the Rugby Top League use it for training camps.
The facility is equipped with facilities to accommodate a variety of sports, including seven natural grass fields, 16 all-weather tennis courts, a baseball field, an archery range, a throwing practice area, and a multi-purpose indoor dome (Okhotsk Dome), and serves as a ``northern sports base.''
The recreation area also has go-karts, a fun bicycle course, and a park golf course, so everyone from children to adults can have fun.
