Abashiri Prison
It is a prison under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Justice.
In Meiji 23, it was opened as the Abashiri Prisoner Foreign Office of the Kushiro Prison Station.
The image of "Abashiri is a prison" can be said to have been created in the movie "Abashiri Bangaichi Series" starring Ken Takakura.
Since it is a prison that is in active use, it is not possible to tour the inside.
Apart from "Abashiri Prison", there is a museum called "Museum Abashiri Prison" in a remote location.
