Therefore, we would like to inform you that the Lake Abashiri Smelt Fishing Venue, which our association has been entrusted with managing recreational fishing in Yobitoura, will be shortening its operating hours for the 2026 season in order to protect smelt resources.
Although the period will be shorter than usual, we will be fully prepared to ensure that not only tourists, but also smelt fishing enthusiasts from both the local area and further afield can safely enjoy recreational smelt fishing in Lake Abashiri in the 2026 season.

You can enjoy freshly caught smelt as tempura.
A tempura set (including pot, oil, tempura flour, chopsticks, plate, and electromagnetic stove) can be rented for 1,000 yen.
*Please apply for the tempura set by 2:45 p.m.
We also have tents for rent.
