The special feature this time is bicycle rentals.

Buses and taxis are great ways to get around, but bicycles are just as good. We'll actually ride one and tell you how good it is.

Starting point: Abashiri Station Tourist Information Center to Koshimizu Primeval Flower Garden

The Abashiri City Tourism Association's Bicycle Rental Service is available at the Tourist Information Centers at "Roadside Station Drift Ice Highway Abashiri" and "Abashiri Station."

We have electric assist bicycles as well as cross bikes. Only electric assist bicycles are available at the Tourist Information Center at Abashiri Station.

Actually, I didn't have many opportunities to ride a bicycle when I was a student, so I was always nervous about whether the bicycle would move forward properly...

Electrically assisted bicycles move smoothly with just a little pedaling.

It reminds me of the feeling of security I got when my family gave me a gentle push from behind during my bike training when I was a child. This certainly makes it less tiring.

We will pass through the Abashiri Drift Ice Highway Roadside Station and continue along the Sea of Okhotsk.

Along the way, we took a short break at the roadside station, Drift Ice Highway. From here it was about 18km to the Koshimizu Primeval Flower Garden. The advantage of cycling is that you can easily make detours.

We also took a commemorative photo.

Since I was on a bicycle, I decided to take a route that didn't have buses or taxis. Then, I heard a cute sound...

The sight of them swimming looks so relaxing and relaxing.

The Shiretoko mountain range is ahead. A refreshing cycling experience.

The road to Koshimizu Primeval Flower Garden faces the Sea of Okhotsk, so it is relatively cool.

A little detour. The famous "Kitahama station" is on the way.

Although we didn't stop by this time, we also recommend the Lake Tofutsu Waterfowl and Wetlands Center!

We arrived at our destination, Koshimizu Primeval Flower Garden!

Flowers and vast nature come into view. This is also a primeval flower garden, but our destination is the Tenran-ga-oka Observatory in the garden. We're just a short distance away.

We have arrived at the Koshimizu Primeval Flower Garden! Flowers such as the Siberian lilies are blooming beautifully!

Although I said it wasn't too tiring, I did get a little tired because of the distance, but the combination of the sense of accomplishment of reaching the summit and the beautiful scenery was amazing!

The recommended route for this rental bicycle tour of Koshimizu Primeval Flower Garden is from late June to mid-July, when the flowers are in bloom!

Bicycle rentals are available at the Tourist Information Center in Abashiri City!

By the way, bicycles emit zero carbon dioxide, which means they are an excellent means of transportation to combat global warming.

Why not start cycling to not only see the drift ice that can be seen in Abashiri City, but also to protect our precious natural environment?

You may discover something new that is only possible on a bicycle.
