Matsuo Genghis Khan Yobito Branch

  • Tentozan /Yobito area

A taste loved by the community for generations. Exquisite Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) from a restaurant with 50 years of history.

Established in 1970, this Genghis Khan restaurant is currently run by the third-generation owner who trained in Sapporo. Their special sweet sauce, made without garlic, uses the natural sweetness of fruit to enhance the flavor of the meat and is popular with a wide range of customers. The juicy "premium lamb" is the most popular dish, but the "mutton," which is carefully marinated in the sauce to reduce any unpleasant odor, is also a firm favorite among regulars.
Despite being a long-established restaurant, the interior is a modern space. You can experience a sense of nostalgia and specialness as they grill thick-cut meat on a rare gas stove and Genghis Khan pot that has been in use since the restaurant was founded 50 years ago.
We are committed to using locally sourced ingredients from the Okhotsk region, sourcing vegetables directly from nearby farmers, and using clams from Lake Abashiri in our miso soup. We also serve freshly milled brown rice from Tanno, demonstrating our commitment to safety and security.
In addition to table seating, there are also comfortable raised seating areas, and since it's popular with families, they have toys and chairs readily available for children. It's a well-established restaurant deeply rooted in the community, with some regular customers coming for three generations.
