"Nabe" is named after the owner and the idea of "a place where everyone can gather," and it opened in 2016. It was born from the owner's strong desire to "bring vibrancy to the city center," by taking over a space that was formerly a coffee shop.
The restaurant offers different concepts for lunch and dinner. Lunch is affordable, priced around 1,000 yen, making it easy for people to drop in. Dinner, which is primarily by reservation, focuses on using ingredients from the waters near Abashiri and other parts of Hokkaido, offering seasonal local flavors and a variety of sake to complement the dishes.
The owner, who has experience making sushi overseas, opened his own restaurant in his 30s. With counter and table seating, the restaurant is conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from the roadside station, attracting a wide range of customers from locals to tourists. While cherishing local food culture, "Naive" warmly welcomes diverse customers and has become an indispensable part of the community.
