Snowshoeing Ancient Jomon Walk ~Dacha Forest~
A private tour to relive the journey from ancient dwelling sites to the sea.
This is a winter version of Dacha's classic "Ancient Jomon Walk" tour, where you can wear snowshoes and take a leisurely stroll along animal trails that people likely used for hunting and gathering, from the ruins of ancient dwellings to the sea. There is also a course that goes to Ainu forts (chashi ruins), and we have several courses to choose from depending on your fitness level and available time, so please feel free to consult with us. You can enjoy a variety of winter scenery, from the sound of your feet crunching on the snow and the footprints of small animals to the occasional sight of "rime ice," where fog adheres to the tips of branches and becomes glass-like. As you listen to the guide's explanations, some participants reflect on the past, saying, "People in the past lived in such a beautiful place." The basic course is just under 1km one way, a little over 2km round trip, and takes just under 2 hours. You will feel a sense of accomplishment when you reach the Okhotsk coast.
