This tour combines three activities: "Lake Abashiri Wakasagi (smelt) fishing," "eagle watching," and "snowshoeing," allowing you to fully enjoy the winter of Okhotsk. Spend half a day snowshoeing to the coast where dramatic icefalls and drifting ice meet, and once safety is confirmed, you may even step onto the ice that washes up on land. The remaining half of the day is spent birdwatching by car in search of Steller's sea eagles and white-tailed eagles, and then 100 minutes of smelt fishing on Lake Abashiri. The smelt you catch are then deep-fried and enjoyed fresh. This tour is especially recommended for those confident in their physical strength, as it's packed with the charms of winter activities.
