All participants will be treated to a free daily hot soup (pork miso soup, etc.)!

Tournament details

■It will be a total competition for 2 days, so you cannot participate only for 1 day.
Competition method: Team system of 3 people.
Compete for the total weight of the smelt caught during the competition over the two days.

*Reception opens one hour before each event.
Entry fee 1 team 12,000 yen
■ The participation fee includes recreational fishing fees for 3 people for 2 days, rental rods, tackle, and fishing bait.
■ Please bring your own chairs. It can be rented for a fee, and there are no child rates.
■ Please transfer the participation fee to the designated account by 12:00 (noon) on December 25, 2020.
*If the payment is not made by the deadline, your registration will not be completed in the participant list and you will not be able to participate.
Recruitment capacity We are looking for a total of 50 teams with 3 people per team. (The scale may be reduced depending on the situation.)
Teams that have decided to participate in the tournament will be notified by e-mail and a participation ticket will be sent at a later date.

*If there are more than 50 applications, participants will be determined by lottery, and participants will be notified of the results of the lottery by email immediately after the deadline.

About withdrawing from participation In the event that there is a vacancy due to a decline in participation, etc., we will move up from among the teams that have not been selected according to the winning order, and we hope that more people will participate. If you are unable to participate in the tournament, please contact us as soon as possible.
Notes ○ Banning bait
○ The use of tents is prohibited (space issues and fraud prevention)
○ Rods, tackles, and baits are limited to those prepared by the tourist association (one set per team (for 3 people) is included in the entry fee)
○ Membership changes are not permitted during the event.
○ The fishing spots (holes) will be put together so that three teams can be together.
However, it will be a lottery on the 1st and 2nd days.

Competition Rules (Revised November 2021)

  1. Competitors must register as a team of three, and no other players will be allowed to be replaced during the competition period. Participation registration can be changed if it is approved by the event secretariat by the day before the event.
  2. Any vacancies in the team during the tournament will not be replaced. However, it is possible to continue the competition without a vacancy.
  3. The target fish species for the competition is only smelt.
  4. The smelt to be weighed will be limited to those caught within the competition time from the fishing hole designated by lottery.
  5. We do not allow the transfer or lending of smelt to other teams.
  6. Smelt that are not weighed are not allowed to be brought into the venue.
  7. The fishing rods, tackles, and bait used in the competition shall be lent or provided by the event secretariat, and only one set per person shall be allowed. However, minimum tools that do not affect the fishing results (scissors, hooks, containers, ice scoops) are allowed to bring in and use.
    If the rig is damaged or the bait is insufficient, the gimmick and bait prepared by the event secretariat can be replaced or added for a fee.
  8. Bringing and using bait is prohibited. Diversion of bait to sprinkled bait is not allowed.
  9. Bringing in or using a tent is not permitted. (Space issues and fraud prevention)
  10. We do not allow any processing or modification to the fish body that interferes with fair weighing.
  11. Fishing holes are designated by lottery every day. Exchanges with other teams are not allowed.
  12. Competitors must not interfere with other competitors.
  13. Competitors shall follow the instructions of the event officials and staff.
  14. Competitors must strictly refrain from acts that are extremely annoying to other participants and general recreational fishermen, and acts that are contrary to public order and morals.
  15. Even if the above conditions are not met, the event secretariat may prohibit such acts if it deems that they impede fairness and impartiality.
  16. If the competition secretariat determines that a competitor has violated the above rules, they may be given a caution, warning, or disqualified. When a competitor is disqualified, their qualification to participate in the competition will be revoked and the team concerned will not be able to continue the competition. The competition registration fee will not be refunded.
  17. Protests regarding the results or actions of the competition must be made verbally to the chief referee of the competition within 10 minutes of the official announcement/notification of the results by the representative of the team. The competition referee must make a decision within 30 minutes of the protest. This ruling is final and does not allow further protests.
  18. The result of the competition is finalized by the declaration of the end of the competition by the executive committee chairperson.
